Floating In Mexico

Tonight at dinner Charis said

"Mommy... it was fun when we went toooo... where was it? That me and you and Daddy went when Bryson and Selah stayed with Grandpa Gene and Grandma Lou Lou?"

Me: Charis, we didn't go anywhere with you and leave Bryson and Selah at Grandma's.

Charis: Ummmm, Oh yeah! Mexico!

Me: You didn't go with us to Mexico... you were in my belly.

Charis: I know, I was floating!

Me: (laughing) I guess that's true. You were there.

April Showers...

Here is it the last day of April, and those showers are finally here. I let the kids go out (ur...uh... I should say "stay" out... they went out without asking me). But it was a good idea they had, and I'm glad they spent the afternoon splashing and playing in the rain.

ps. I LOVE our back patio this time of year!!!!

Mr. Silly Pants

Bryson walked in the gameroom and said "Mom... I got my pants on!"

Which is Funnier?

We've been working like crazy (in what spare time we have) to finish our theater room. Which, will probably be used as a toy room ~ ha. Anyway, I snapped this pic of Alan and Charis painting the primer on the walls. I can't decide which is funnier... Alan's socks and shoes, or Charis painting in her panties.

Easter 2009

Easter pics in the yard... taken the night before Easter because the weather is about to get too cold for these cute dresses! My kids were being silly for pics. And one had a frowny face for awhile ~ ha!

Happy Easter Day

Wow! Our worship service was great today. It is so good to celebrate the risen Jesus. I couldn't help but spend time today thinking of the ones I love and care for who don't know or serve the Lord with us. Wish they were there today. Today made me look forward to Heaven, being in the presence of God, worshiping.

Here are a few pics of the kids and their Easter baskets. Last night I snapped pics of them in in the yard wearing their "would be" Easter outfits. Thanks to the rain and cold weather today, we had a back-up plan. I made the girls' dresses out of Easter hand-towels from Target. It's the same idea as the pillowcase dresses, except we had to sew the towels together at the side seams. They turned out so cute! It's hard to tell from the pics, but there is a 2-tone pattern of little yellow chicks in the towel fabric. Add a long-sleeved shirt and wooolla! Easter dresses for cool rainy days.

Good Friday, Indeed

This is Good Friday, and it has been so. Selah was home from school, and Alan home from work, so we had a fun, family-filled afternoon. We ate at our favorite pizza place for lunch, then made our way to Border's bookstore for a couple hours. The kids had fun gathering up books to look at and we all sat at the table and read/browsed through our selections. Selah's favorite was the Compact Guide to Oklahoma Birds. She spent quite a bit of time looking at all the different birds. She also gathered up several different princess-ey books as well. Charis had a big stack of lots of different books, mostly pink :) but her favorite was the Elle magazine I grabbed for her off the magazine rack. She poured over the pictures of all the fashion models, critiquing them as she flipped the glossy pages. All the fashion dresses and shoes... right up her alley. She did not like the women with the shaved heads, but found many dresses she approved of! She's so funny with the clothes! Bryson spent most of his time doing search-and-find books. Alan looked through beer-making and poker-playing guides (that sounds much worse than it actually is?!?!?), and I did my usual... cookbooks. High hopes.

Then we came home, and we all went back to work. Alan is working in all his spare time on finishing our new addition upstairs, and I have a stack of about 12 plates to go.
